Stretch your Ringgits

I was trully amazed when i received numerous message on Uncle Ravi’s note. Thanks to the wonderful readers, some appreciated the experience shared, some requested me to continue writing on investment, some wanted to invest and i have fixed the appointment and some pending meeting with them.

Let me tell you another true story how does a financialy freed person is living. It is none other than my bf dad. He 60 years old man now, 2 children all are grown up and working. He started diversifying into investment many-many years back, could be when i was still studying during my colleges. He had invested on property and also equity market. Few years back he bought a double storey house and paid cash, he has a car and most importantly he does not need to make the bank richer by paying hefty interest. He is NOT squeezed by inflation and well he is NOT WORKING. He is enjoying his golden days watching ASTRO and sipping a cuppa of hot coffe when some of the other people at his age are still struggling coping with life and financial. An elderly husband and wife is separated because they need to take care of their grandchildren in 2 different house ( daughter’s house and Son’s house), both their children are working and need someone to stay in with them. Im not saying it is unrealistic, ideally not something we want to go through during our golden age.

When we’re talking about legal investment it is not only UNIT TRUST but also on property, Insurance & bonds. You must always PLANT THIS IN YOUR BRAIN THAT ANYTHING THAT YOU INVEST , THE RETURNS MUST BEAT THE INFLATION RATE. Else you are making a loss by saving weaker Ringgits. Stretch your dollars….twist your coins and smile when you see your $$ Account balance $$ .emoticon Good LUCK - ONBVN

Upward Trends showing positive move ?

Today KLSI Index had shown some positive & remarkable upwards trend (+50pts). We hope this will continue and more technical corrections to come forward during this week. So Guys if you have extra cash Invest now when the market is low and once it shoooots high , you will be making Thick money.emoticon (Im putting in my cheque tommorow, will certainly going to gain, because so far I HAVE GAINED).emoticon

I have some true story to share, i came to know on this few months back.

Uncle Ravi (changed his name for privacy sake) was 53 years old when his son completed SPM with flying colors. If am not mistaken it was his youngest one. His ambition is to become a Doctor, with his results he will certainly get a entrance in University but you know quota system and etc etc, His applications was rejected by local U. Uncle Ravi being a average earner could not afford his son’s dream in Private Univ. After much thought he decided to fulfill the young fellow’s wish and he withdraw from his EPF (second account) and some savings that he had. On top of that applied for some loan, re-mortgage the house and everything that he could to churn the money.

Today the son is doing his MBBS in Private University in M’sia and you would probably know how much does it cost. I heard it could be somewhere around RM400K to Rm500k. And…What happened to Uncle Ravi ? He has very little money from his EPF (he is now 55 years old), staying in a rented house and working as security guard + still paying for his mortgage loan. How much does a security guard could earn ? He is not born and breed rich either, so can you imagine the trauma he is undergoing everyday. By the time his son graduate , housmanship etc etc will take another 10 years ?? Btw He has so much of Regrets now.. not because of his son’t dream but for not managing his liquidity well enough.

Now look what are the lesson to be learned :-

1. Recently research shows , EPF money is completely wiped off in just 10 years after a person retire. Let’s say when you retire you have RM120K ( this is a average a person could have ), it could only last you for less than 10 years. What happens if you are suffering from medical ailments ? Your money could finish even quicker.

2. Is it confirmed that your children will look after YOU when you are old. Nothing is confirmed and if you pass by any old folks home, you could just see the number of occupants are increasing drastically.

3. Will your children gives you extra pocket money that you need ?

4. Will you depend on your children thinking that you have done xyz for them so in return they must do xyz for YOU ?

Most of the answer’s will be NO.

What I’m trying to say here is plan for your future. Try to be smart with your money, Stretch the Ringgit and make your Dollar and Cent work for you and your future needs. If Uncle Ravi could have put aside/ invested some money from his EPF ( account 1) into Unit trust, his money would have been tripled by now. Maybe he don;t need to work as security guard and still will be staying in his own house. Can you imagine a Man at his age toiling instead of resting at home ? Btw Uncle Ravi does not know such  a thing as Legal Investment exist during his young age.

Im not cooking up the story, why regret at later age when there is someone guiding you ?? One can start with as little as RM1000 and top it up whenever you want. Think Wisely and Act Wisely. This money could be helpful to you one day, it could be for your house, wedding or even children or better still HOLIDAY !!!

***We have past performance of funds performing excellently well and have tripled the profit.

Share Market Meltdown while US SubPrime Loan Soars

It had been sometime since I wrote something about Shares & Unit Trusts. Well Now everyone is afraid of looking at KLSI which has dropped drastically ever since I went to india. It had been such for the past 2 weeks. From the highest 1,390 to 1200 pts. Nervertheless let me tell you that all this are just temporary, things will certainly change very soon and am hoping for the best result. Now is the best time to buy the price is low.. So people out there, start investing more.

Unit trust losses are very small ( 4 decimals points) unlike Share Market, for those invested in Share Market they might had suffered losses but stay on guys.. things will change soon. Global sell out had added the Indexes to go low.. Stay tuned for more updates.

Very very Bitter experience : Andhra Pradesh

After our prayers we bought some stuffs here & we couldnt get to our car immediately. There was a car blocked our way so we was standing outside of the temple and I was snapping few photographs. I saw a car infront of us which looks like police car and few officers was in the car.
After 15 min Uncle Satya manage to reverse and we quickly climbed over On the way back from Chittor district.

The bitter experience happened after 25 min from Sri kalahasti, the unforgetable experience. I don’t want to elaborate much on this because we wanted it to remain secret between 3+1 of us (mom, me and my sis and anor) thus publishing in the net wouldn’t be ethical. Let me give some keywords .. make your own sentence.. BN. Kandriga Police Station , 4 hours, Key, Dark, Jeep, Scorpio, Night,Kannamapuram & Suyampuram, Sumo , Sri Perumbudur, Maruthi Car , Bhai Saar, 1am —— > Racist.
Very bitter experience. :“(

Alamelu Mangayar Thayar Temple & Sri Kalahasti

After lunch we head towards Thiruchanoor - Alamelu Mangayar Thaayar Temple , it is a MUST to go temple after visiting the Lord, especially after our Special Darshan. As usual no cameras and e-devices are allowed thus no photo’s was taken. Also here we received a good darshan, it was very calm prayers. We manage to get in near to the Mulasthanaam. It was great feelings to pray there. Here we was surrounded with a group of beggar’s and also some people trying their level best to sell of their stone carvings. Well we did bought back some and Mom bought special 5 elements of Sankh and Chakra from ISCKON. Suresh was with us and the darshan ticket was Rs30 rupees each. The after we send off Suresh back to Railway station as he needs to catch the train back to Hydrabad. Mind you it is 12 hours journey although within the same state. Alamelu Manga is also known as Sri Padmavathy, She is a Hindu goddess of Wealth and Good Fortune. The road to Railway Station is quite bad . It was kinda of sad feeling that he couldn’t come with us to Sri Kalahasti, although he very much wanted. Sri Kalahasti. We drove to the temple and took us about 40min to reach. Uncle Ravi played the tamil Movie " Karupusamy Kuthaigaitharaar". Although we was feeling very tired but yes we was energetic. The temple was situated around very congested area with houses and so on, unlike Malaysia. When we stepped ino the temple we felt very divine. We was approached by a temple caretaker to purchase the Darshan ticket, Rs30 per person ( special entrace). He took us straight to the Mulasthanam, Lord Shiva is not in his usual form of Linga but in totally different form. I can’t explain what exactly I saw but i have a picture of artist impression. The surroundings are lighted with oil lamps. All the flames will not flicker except for ONE MAIN FLAME lights which will continuously FLICKER there isn’t any window/air-cond or whatever that could cause the flame to flicker but then it flickers…. YeS, it is believed the Lord is there breathing !!! Could you imagine i had goosebumps when i witnessed this. This temple is one of the 5 elements (panja bootham) of Vayu or Air. The temple priest will never touch the Idol as it is believed to be Syambhulingham - Self Manifested Linga. The offerings such as flower’s deepa arathana are offered to the Utsava Murthy not the main linga. I quietly prayed and was mesmerized with this temple. Im still thinking of the single flame that flickers….. This shows the existence of powerful vibrations and I believed our prayers are heard. The temple priest invited us to join for Abhishekam but since we was rushing we couldn’t join. Then we visited Lord’s consort Gnanamibikai Ambal, Guru Dakshinamurthy. All the 63 Shiva Saints, Linga’s and also Spadiga Lingham - Lingha in Crystal form. This temple is the only place where one can get rid of Kala Sarpha Dhosam. The Rahu - Kethu is mainly prayed here also. There is a legends story of Spider, snake , Elephant which Means Sri Kala Hasti. I will try to update later. OK, do you remember Kannapar from the Purana’s? He is one of 63 Saints of Shiva. The story comes like this, He plucked out his own eyes to offer to Linga & offered butchered meat to god since the god was not having any food. Lord Shiva was touched by his devotion and gave him Moksha. You know what I manage to snap the place where the whole thing took place. It is very high on top of the hill, i zoomed my camera to max to snap the place. And Yes it is very close shot. It is also believed he prayed in this temple. The temples architechture are very ancient and carved using single rock. This temple was built by the Great Great King’s in India those centuries. If you want to meditate it will be the best place, not much effort is needed to concerntrate . This itself proves how much of calmness and peace one will get. So guys don’t forget to to visit this temple… Yes I will surely visit the temple again. I felt gifted to witness the flame flickers.

The place where Saint Kannapar plucked his eyes.

164

Kannappa, ripe in love, scooped out And in the Lord’s face planted his eyes. But till he plucked and planted them He too retained a trace of price In those bright, beautiful orbs of his. Attachment to the body dies Hard, very hard indeed.

165

Why did the three-eyed Lord ordain That Kanappa should pluck and plant Those eyes of which he was so proud? It was to save him from the death, The deadly folly of deeming he Was flesh inert. Such is the might Of Siva.

Photos at Tirupathi

Tirupathi

We reached Tirupathi at 2.45pm, the road at Rannigutta was bad thus slowed our journey. I was amazed to see a big statue of Dr.MS.Subbulakshmi installed at the entrance of Tirupathi, very captivating. If you don’t know her, She is the one whom sung Vishnu Sahasranamam a Carnatic Music legend. I will always listen to Sahasranamam, if you’re sad or needed peaceful of mind try listening to the verses, few verses will give huge impact to you. When I was doing my MBA churning the midnight oil, I will listen to Vishnu Sahasranamam and rejevunated theafter. She was also the first Singer to be awarded with Bharat Ratna - Highest Indian Civilian honor.

Later we purchased entrance ticket to Tirumala which cost Rs30 and scrutinious security check, The security officer ransacked our luggage and completely checked each of us. This is to evade fear for terrorism attack. I don’t mind going through the checks, Tirupathi being the richest temple in the world and visited by thousands of pilgrims all over the world. The road to Tirumala improved drastically, there are about 17 bends alltogether and took us 25 min to reach Tirumala.

Suresh is ready is receive us at a famous Guest House in Tirumala , Annamaya Bhavan. The guest house is very clean and cosy. There was a living room + TV , 2 big bedrooms and with a dining hall. This is more than enough for us. We placed our luggage and attacked on our lunch, we was damn hungry. We took Set Meals -Thaali, accompanied with pickles, tairu, mooru moozhalaga, Sambar, vegetables, pappads and payasam. Wow.. we have never tasted such a tasty vege food ever. The brinjal fried is mized with cashew nuts and groundnuts added to the crunchiness. We washed down the food with freshly made grape juice.

It is time to get ready for Darshan, we need to rush before 8pm as the temple will be closed for hours , Suresh bought the tickets for all of us including Mr.Ravi and Uncle Satya , very very nice of him. It started raining heavily but we still walked through rain to see the LORD. I was stopped for security check and found camera baterry in my bag thus they confiscated :( , I didn;t check my bag pockets thoroughly :( Anyway what is more Important is to get my Darshan, it was long serpentine queue.Within 40 min we’re at the Main temple - I felt a strong vibration when everyone started chanthing "Govinda" "Govinda" , I was reciting my Vishnu Manthra Silently. It is my turn .. I catched glimpse of him. It was very divine and pure feeling, there is no word to express the feeling I had when I saw HIM. I could feel he is there alive and breathing and listening to his devotees murmurs. Although it ended about 10 sec - I waited for 4 years for this few seconds. Im thankful so much to Suresh for making this to happen. Later we went around the shops at Tirumala while Uncle Ravi went to collect the special Laddu’s.

We ate our dinner and slept off for next morning for the special Darshan that we required (Aadi Velli). All of us was drenched in rain but it is very nice feeling. The air in Tirumala is very chill and water drops are as cold as ice. So that night i catch terrible cold and had difficulties breathing. The surrounding air is very cold even without fan. ANyway I manage to slept off after few hours of struggle.

3rd AUgust

We woke up as early as 7am to prepare for our Darshan, we couldn’t get Suprabatham tickets but Kalyana Utsavam. We took our breakfast at the same restaurant again, I ate Pesaratu, typical Andhra food. It is dosa grinded with green peas and folded with Uppuma. It is served hot with Chutney and Sambar.Either way we’re feeling happy to see the Lord for second time. Suresh bought the tickets and we waited at the entrace, the weather is very cold and sunny. It made our days better. Now we took only 15min to visit the Lord, the main queue has been stopped for us to enter. This time we had better glimpse of Lord and prayers. Again thanks to Suresh to make this into reality. We could sense the Lord was Happy after the Wedding (Kalyana Utsav) with full ornaments - Raaja Alangaram. I saw a huge room where all the flower;s for lord is kept, you will amazed to see this. We god the prasad and blessing from the priest and sat near to the temple for meditation. Suresh does meditation and the rest of us did the same and recited Vishnu Manthra. Later we donated some money in the Kuberan Undial. The prasadam is Puli satham. Prayers after prayers Suresh went to take the Laddu where else we was standing outside the temple and looking at the architechture of the Most Powerful temple in World.

Since our Darshan are finished , next we plan to visit Lord’s Consort - Alamelu Mangayar Thaayar at Tirupathi. Going down the hills could make one nauseatic as it has 52 sharp bends, so it is advised not to eat anything at Tirumala , have your food at the Food hills. On the way we visited Shri Hanuman temple and deer farm.

We took our lunch at Bhima’s @ Tirupathi , as I mentioned earlier they are very well known for Vegetarian dishes. We ordered Set Meals which comes with Chappati, Rice, Curd, Curries, Poriyals and vegetables. Beeda is served as mouth refreshner. Since I have Gastric I dare not try but the rest of them ate many :) .

Check out next on Alamelu Mangayar temple & Sri Kalahasti.

My trip at India : Bhimaas to Tirupathi

Finally my planning to India become reality. After careful planning and running ups and down we landed safely at Anna Salai Airport. My main intention to India is to visit Tirupathi. I have been to Tirupathi back in 2003 and received a blissful Darshan. So this is how it goes :-

First day 1st August

Anna Salai airport has changed alot from Book Register to computerised updates, from fan to Air-cond, Concrite wall to tiles and from dirt to clean !! Wow good.

We took a hotel car pickup to Bhimaas Hotel @ Vadapalani, it is actually beside Vadapalani Murugan Temple. The agreed Car pick up was Rs350 but we ended up paying Rs910 (daylight robbery) just because a Sumo car was send instead of the Ambassador (the white car that we saw in tamil movies). I couldn’t accept the explaination , we just had no choice but to agree quietly. The complimentary breakfast was tasty especially the Pudina chutney. The standard breakfast that we was having for the past one week was :-

1. Idly & Vada accompanied with 3 chutneys + Sambar and small cup of coffe which will finish in a single gulp.

2. You can choose either Dosa, Pongal, Poori or Idiappam. Mostly I will just choose Dosa. My mom said the poori was tasty as well.

Once we stepped out from Bhimaa’s hotel just a stone throw there is a small Amman temple. Being Aadi month supposedly to be auspicious for Amman temples , I saw few women in trance just outside the temple and boiling milk and coole for Amman. It is a Palayutha amman temple.

After that we attacked the TV with all kinda of Tamil programes - Teja ( Telungu) , Kiran (Hindi), Sun TV , Jaya TV , Gemini (Malayalam programme) & Raj TV screens only Movie. We slept as all of us was tried. The room is quite spacious with A/C.

Later we went to Lakshman Shruthi with my mom’s teacher’s Son. He is music teacher. My mom learns Sangeetham thus this shops sells musical instrument. She bought few Carnatic Books + CD’s and Shruthi box. We also checked on Egatha Veenai which is supposedly special. Since we bought many items they served us free Pepsi in glass.. Was amazed with their customer service.

Theafter we requested Auto (It is pronounced as AAto not Auto :) to exchange RM to Rupees , He took us to Bharath store. We changed few hundred RM to Rs @ exchange rate of 11.4. After we stepped out from the shop,  the Aato driver told us to wait and we saw him entering the money exchange. Guess what he would have done ?? He asked for commision from Money exchange as though as he brought us here and gave business to them :) Lucky guy !! Anyway that is for his living.

Don’t pronouce as Auto - No one understands it.. Always say Aato :)

It is already night by the time we stepped in back to hotel, the next day we need to head towards Tirupathi for Darshan thus doesn;t want to over tire ourselves. We took our shower, the water is not as salty as few years back. Previously I was staying at Taj Connemara which belongs to The Taj Group of hotels. We had our Dinner at Bhimaas itself. The food was excellent - Vegetarian food. We had Mushroom Pilaf , Hydrabad Veg Briyani and Veg fried rice accompanied with Paneer Machurian the food blanded so well and tasted so delicious. I must say Bhimaas serves one of the best Vegetarian food. Their food range from Chinese to South Indian , Tandoors and etc. We watched some tamil movie and slept off. I must say three of us had a good sleep that I hardly get when Im in Malaysia. The sleep was very peaceful .

2nd AUgust 2007.

We made arrangement from My mom’s teacher’s brother to bring us to Tirupathi. His name is Mr.Ravi and Uncle Satya is the driver , old man with youngman’s blood. They both can crack good jokes, real good jokes especially when they speak Madrasi language.. After our breakfast the same menu as mentioned earlier, we quickly grabbed for few Mineral bottle ( Drink only Aquafina) and waited for Uncle Ravi’s arrival with his Mahindra Scorpio’s . We’re carried luggage as we planned to overnight at Tirupathi. I was amazed to his car, very comfortable and it has a video player thus we was watching Sivakasi all the way to Tirupathi.

Now there is new road being build by Dato Seri from Chennai to Banglore. The road’s existence has shorten our destination to Tirupathi. It takes about 3 hours to reach Tirumala (uphill). Along the way we saw many temples along the road. Although some people are very poor but they are Hardworking, they toil day and night. They face many challenges in reality as most of the infrastructure is not up to date yet.

My good friend Suresh will be receiving us at Tirupathi. He made all the preparation for us to stay and Darshan. FYI, I have very few good friends and he is one of that. Most of my friends are well known to my family members. We have been planning this for almost 4 years and it is God whom worked Miracle to make this to happen.

Will write more…and also photos.

JetAirways - Double Standard

I forgot to update something from my previous blog on Jet Airways and their nuisances, Rememer I mentioned another Malaysian was also travelling. The same thing happened to them, they exceeded 22KG but JetAirways let them off after the person spoke to Manager of Jet Airways. Plus he is out without paying the excess fee, Now the question is why Double Standard ?? Why treat people differently ? I thought Jet Airways are "Virtue" by T&C and strictly follows them, all this are utter nonsense and nuisance. So The Sangeetha attack on us was deliberate and out of purpose.

I checked with other Flight Attendants and they said normally if the baggage exceed by 32KG should not be a problem as long as the group check in is applied and within the allowed weight . So where goes their POLICY ?emoticon

JetAirways - Bad Customer Service

Im a very reasonable person unless my anger was provoked. This is exactly what a Flight Checkin Attendant did when i was coming back from India yesterday. They screwed up the trust I had with them and the investment I did and for return they gave me such a bad’est customer service.

Guys when you purchase Air ticket from them read the Terms and COndition carefully else bring a lawyer with you to explain each and every single lines they have in their T&C. When i was flying with MAS i didn;t face any issue, normally as long the weight is less than 60KG we can go ahead to be checked in. Since 3 of us went, we did a group check-in, but they didn;t allow us to check-in as one of the bag we carried is more than 32KG. We didn;t know about it untill the luggage was weighted. Instead of giving a solution this Sangeetha shrugged her head and ask us to remove the clothe’s , Fine we can remove it so what to do with the clothes.. I can;t be carrying them in my hands . Her ultimate is to remove the clothes out and I didn;t even know there is a Convenient store that sells Bags. She shouted and I did Shout to her back. This blady women created a havoc. However another Attendant showed me where exactly i can get the bags and quickly ran to get the bags -Nylon which cost me Rs970, it is a Daylight robbery. One of the Jetairways boy helped but at the end he demanded for commission.. we gave him. Look at their Sincerity !!!! Money speaks !! Im not against India, such a beautiful country but the people. Money minded no place for human feelings.

This is exact letter I wrote to them :-

I flew from Chennai to Malaysia on 6th August, we had bad experience with Check in Counter SANGEETHA- Blady rude and most stupid  women I have ever seen. The luggage we carried somewhat rather more than 32KG, previously when flying with MAS we can do Group Check in however it seems it is prohibited there. Instead of giving us a solution she was shrugging her head without giving solutions. She even shouted at us. We are their customer’s , they should atleast be patient and explain instead of that she kept on saying "I don’t know" You need to remove some of your things.. Later another Girl named Sannu told us to purchase a luggage and place all of excess into the bag, and we did that without making much noise.
What we need is a Solution not shrugging head and shouting, She thinks she is a big hell of person seating in the chair. I HOPE JETAIRWAYS SHOULD SPEND SOME MONEY IN TRAINING PEOPLE WITH SOFT SKILLS AND HOW TO SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER, WE’RE NOT COUNTRY BRUTE , EDUCATED AND HOLDING RESPECTABLE STATUS, DON’T SAY THE PROBLEM BUT GIVE US A SOLUTION..
I WILL CERTAINLY ENSURE AM NOT GOING TO FLY WITH JETAIRWAYS ANYMORE AND SAME TO MY OTHER RELATIVES. WE MET ANOTHER MALAYSIAN AND HAD A SAME ISSUE , THEY HAVE JUST LOST A CUSTOMER AND THEIR TRUST. I HAVE FLOW MANY TIMES WITH MAS BUT NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES AT ALL. ONLY JETAIRWAYS.. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ZERO.
I HOPE YOUR MANAGEMENT COULD SEND SANGEETHA FOR SOME SOFT SKILLS TRAINING BEFORE SHE ATTENDS TO THE CUSTOMER.

FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER
