Top 5 Mistakes a Leader makes - Recruiter.com

1.Taking too much control: Don’t let your new position go to your head. As any good manager knows, It’s not all about you – it’s about the results of the team. Don’t leverage your management authority to make the workplace an environment of fear and animosity for your employees.
2.Not appreciating your team: Understanding the value of your team is the key to unlocking any successful project or goal. Realize that your subordinates are not carbon copies of yourself and that each individual has different strengths and weaknesses that they bring to the table. They are motivated and are driven to perform for different reasons.
3.Moving too fast: Many a new manager wants to start their career with a bang and come in to the role expecting to change the world. Slow down and take baby steps – radical change is seldom accepted wholeheartedly. Most management gurus suggest a three month “grace period,” where you evaluate the team and understand your goals.
4.Not taking any advice: New managers are expected to make tough decisions even though they don’t possess the years of experience and insight a seasoned decision maker would have. For any new manager, now is the time to listen and learn. Seek advice from colleagues and mentors while working hard to bridge communication gaps with team members. Building a rapport with your team builds trust.
5.Not taking enough control: The antithesis to Mistake #1, not taking enough control is just as deadly to any new manager. Your authority is paramount or else the whole system falls apart. As a leader, you can be cordial and respectful with your teammates, but you can’t be their best friend. This is the sacrifice that any good manager must realize, and accept.

The road to great management may in fact be a lifelong journey, not a skill easily acquired in a number of months on the job. Many new supervisors take it upon themselves to overcompensate in certain areas – terrified that someone might perceive their freshness as a weakness. They make poor choices that impact organizational effectiveness and quickly find themselves burnt out from the stress. - Taken from Recruiter.com

In fact, many employees struggle to get into management roles, but once they get there, they realize it isn’t for them. Managers must possess a very particular drive and personality in order to be effective. If it’s not for you, don’t be ashamed to realize this. But if you are a new manager, be sure to give yourself some time on the job. More so than perhaps any individual profession, managing people presents the most complex challenge, but also presents the greatest rewards.

Father of Nuclear Bomb- Oppenheimer Quotes out of hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita after the first Nuclear explosion

J. Robert Oppenheimer is often addressed as Father of Nuclear / Atomic bomb. He is world renowned physicist and professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley. The first atomic bomb was detonated on July 16, 1945, merely after the blast went off he quoted verses from Bhagavad Gita. This is exactly what he said " I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, ‘Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds’. Lord Krishna has mentioned in Bhagavad Gita that Do your duty to the best of your ability without worrying about the results. The results doesn’t belong us , it is HIS.

Do your duty, to the best of your abilities, for the Lord without any selfish motive, and remember God at all times - before starting a work, at the completion of a task, and while inactive.”

Oppenheimer became aware not only the terrifying power of the nuclear bomb but also our inability to entirely comprehend the implications of this invention. His attempts to warn the public were silenced and ridiculed, though today, over 65 years later, his voice is a haunting reminder of our very real nuclear threat.

'The Household Street '

Angadi Theru - That is the movie.

I have missed atleast 30min of the movie so I quickly rush to the hall with plate in my hand. While having dinner and enjoying the movie, but caught in my bewilderment when the treatment on the workers are shown.Especially the way the food is served, I find it hard to chew the food . I can’t gush it down to my esophagus, not with the situation but the treatment shown whilst I’m enjoying my food in a plate that is well cleaned and served.
The movie is a eye opener for those who thinks life is bed of rose garden. The director has given importance even to the minute scene in the movie - the man who cleans the toilet and started earning money, the beggar and his wife , the man that ‘re-create used shirt into new packaging’ and also the old man whom died of from varicose vein.
emoticonThe entire story line is superb and it is a stupendous performance of the newcomers (lingu & Kani).

Ayirathil Oruvan The ectasy

Aayirathil Oruvan ( AO) has been eye opener for movie industry unlike the normal love story masala or some funny-making-serious movie. The concept is amazing however viewers stumbles upon the Linguistic tamil that is used in the second half of the movie, a sublingual would be better. The ‘Astala Vista’ kicks in on the second part of the movie, I personally find the second part is informative though it is based on myth and doesn’t depicts actual Chola Dynasty.

I feel the movie has a bit of Indiana Jones touch as well as Maghadeera (telugu) , both are in search of archeo activist or past life rememberance.Song is felicitously superb, the clip is well evolved. Nithyashree is awesome for Chola Ectasy with a blend mixture of Telugu and Tamil.

Thumbs up!!emoticon

The MGR version Aayirathil Oruvan and 2009 Ayirathil Oruvan has some similarities, watch it for yourself to spot.

My personal opinion, the movie is worth watch only if you understand the second part of the movie else it is like searching needle in haystack.

H1N1 Medical Checkup in Malaysia

I landed KLIA from Los Angeles and given a yellow sheet to test against H1N1. I visited the nearest clinic at my place after 3 days of Quarantine. However, The Doctor is quite terrified and reluctant to check me. He kept on looking at the yellow sheet, untill I started chatting with him. The first question he asked " Why did you come here" ?? , Im puzzled and horrified at same time. When I answered for H1N1 check-up, he started rambling and requested me to go to General Hospital instead of Clinic.

It seems if Im infected with H1N1 and diagnosed through his clinic, the clinic will be closed for 7 days and he will loose his business for entire week !!!  Since I didn’t develop any symptoms against H1N1 and safe to unquarantine. But it is a ordeal to go through the 7 days at home , hoping for best of health condition !!

Pheww…

Raman Thediya Seethai

After many months of busy working schedule, I went all the way to Leboh Ampang get VCD of Raman Thediya Seethai. Cheran proved himself again. This guy is something , His Movie creates or develop special inner feelings that sprung deep from our heart, somewhere rather it knocks a special sense. This movie gave us or alteast me a inner strength to go against all obstacles in life and achieve. Though the story line is about Cheran going after many failed marriage proposals, it is the same concept that applies in our life, to go against the hurdles and challenges part of life. Appreciation to others and thankful to those who moulded us from nowhere to what we’re today. Life is the best experience for human and nothing could ever beat that. The second heroine of the movie, eloped just before the wedding thus lead to cancellation of his marriage. He acted well in that scene. He will meet her again at Nagoor, he will go all the way to help her and unite her with father - Mannivannan. There are very few man whom will take the lead and guide the women in their life, show her the right path and be with her through thick and thin. They can be quiet and soft spoken but their advises will knock all the senses that is lost in our brain, it is like finding needle in a haystack… Alltogether for me it is Seethai Thediya Raman… Watch this movie to find out why almost all Cheran’s wedding proposal is rejected, will he marry the girl that he loves ? Good story line.

True Story : Juvenile Crime of a Student

This is another true story that happened in JB. Name has been changed for privacy purpose.

Aravind is a pet boy for his parents, being the youngest and only son , he is the apple eye of his parents. He gets things done his way. During his free time that is after school he will play football with his friends in the " Taman padang". His parents let him to go on his way, he is also deemed to be the lucky boy that brought fortune to his parents.

His peers suggested to play online " counter -strike game" instead of football, Aravind lied to his parents, instead of going to tuition he started going to cybercafe religously with his peers. There he is exposed to many vices including illegal gambling and smoking. This illegal activity has been going on for few months, apparently some neighbours alerted his parents abt Aravind’s behaviour and seen in Cybercafe’s for hours. His parents brushed off the complaints as they have trust in their son.

One day Aravind gambled and lost all the money and started borrowing money from Cybercafe boss for few hundreds, the boss is none other than famous " Ah-Long". When the boss confronted money from Aravind, he took the blade knife and slashed the Ah-Long’s wrist and ran away.

The rest, well… He got arrested at such a young teenage age and was jailed for few days. Aravind’s parents used all the will-power of money and manage to get him out !!

Now he is a grown-up boy who didn’t excel in studies but his parents are still spoiling him!!! ;-(
